Hello all. This is a place to collaborate and learn about simple day to day computer functions on the Mac that may be taken for granted by the advanced computer guru but sorely misunderstood by your novice computer user.
You will see podcasts showing video and screen tutorials that will leave the guess work out of daily computer tasks that us so called "Geeks" take for granted.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Greg. I have been working in the Information Technology industry for 10+ yrs. I work with all kinds of Operating systems, hardware, software, gadgets, you name it. I specialize in Macintosh systems and everything Apple. Being enthralled in a field like IT, you do not just dabble in it or work a "9 - 5" Technology is a way of life. Ever changing & improving. Staying on top of the hot gadget that comes out on Monday can be old news by Friday. Microsoft constantly dueling with Apple. Adobe Flash unwelcome by Apple. Google and Microsoft at war with search engine results. Android constantly trying to out-do Apple's iPhone. Verizon..Apple. Who is better?? iPad, once the only Tablet in town is being tested by RIM's Playbook, Samsung's Galaxy, Motorolla's Xoom
Memory, motherboards, OH MY!! This list is ongoing.
We all know some people are technically challenged. If you do not repeat a computer task repetitively every day or at least once a week, this may turn into something where you end up pulling out your hair or even something worse. I cannot tell you how many times I get a call from friends, family, co-workers on "Technology-How do I do this?"
After 10 yrs of "How do I do this?" I've decided to make simple podcasts on every possible question that comes up on a computer. Something as simple as "How do I create a folder on my desktop?" to using VNC screen sharing and remotely controlling another computer.
The other idea behind this is for user interaction, which will in turn add to the idea of "Technologyhowtos" Any person that visits this site is encouraged to make suggestions or comments to aid in helping others utilize they're daily computer duties in a more timely and productive manner.
